New Honda CB650R, CBR650R Launched in India; Bookings Open

The CB650R and CBR650R will go on sale at ex-showroom (Delhi) prices of Rs 9.20 lakh and Rs 9.99 lakh, respectively, in the Indian market

Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India has launched the new CB650R at a sticker price of Rs 9.20 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) in the country. In addition, Honda CBR650R has also been introduced at an astonishing price point of Rs 9.99 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The bookings for both these premium bikes have officially commenced at all BigWing dealerships across India. The 650 duo can also be booked digitally at Honda BigWing India’s official website. The deliveries of the CB650R and CBR650R will start from February 2025 onwards.

New Honda CB650R

To start with the new Honda CB650R, it adorns the brand’s Neo Sports Café design language with styling elements like a circular LED headlamp, muscular fuel tank and an exposed frame. The motorcycle is offered in two paint shades namely Candy Chromosphere Red and Matte Gunpowder Black Metallic. It boasts of a fully-coloured 5-inch TFT crystal liquid display with Honda RoadSync app connectivity via Bluetooth to access multiple functions such as calling and navigation.

As for braking, the new Honda CB650R gets twin radial-mounted 310mm floating disc units at front and 240mm single disc at the rear as they work in accordance with the dual-channel ABS. The suspension duties are helmed by inverted SHOWA (SFF-BP) front forks and a mono-shock unit at rear with preload adjustment. Mechanically, it is powered by the 649cc 4-cylinder liquid-cooled engine which develops top power of 94 bhp at 12,000 rpm and peak torque of 63 Nm at 9,500 rpm. The engine is coupled with a 6-speed transmission and an assist & slipper clutch.

Coming to the new Honda CBR650R, the middleweight sports motorcycle has Honda’s Racing DNA as far as styling is concerned. It is presented in a sleek design with dual-eye LED headlights, sharp aerodynamic lines and a hunched-forward stance. It carries a plethora of premium features in the form of an all-LED lighting system, Honda Selectable Torque Control, 5-inch TFT crystal liquid display with Bluetooth connectivity, and Honda RoadSync app with calling and navigation functions.

The new Honda CBR650R is presented in two colour choices namely Grand Prix Red and Matt Gunpowder Black Metallic. Honda has installed Showa-sourced inverted 41mm Separate Function Fork Big Piston (SFF-BP) and radial-mounted dual 310mm front disc brakes. The motorcycle also features a dual-channel ABS as standard safety fitment. At the heart, it has the same 649cc 4-cylinder liquid-cooled engine with identical power and torque figures, i.e. 94 bhp at 12,000 rpm and 63 Nm at 9,500 rpm, respectively. The engine is linked to the 6-speed gearbox along with an assist & slipper clutch.
