At a press conference in Bangalore, Mahindra has launched the Gusto 125 at an attractive price tag of Rs 50,680 (ex-showroom, Bangalore), making it the cheapest 125 cc scooter in the market. The Gusto 125 will initially be launched only in the southern states and then rolled on to the rest of the country. It will also be introduced globally across Asia and Central America.
The Gusto 125, if looked as an extension of the Gusto 110 cc variant, makes for an interesting product. It is powered by a new 124.6 cc air cooled M-TEC engine, it churns out 8.5 bhp of maximum power at 7,000 rpm and 10 Nm of peak torque at 5,500 rpm. It gets 12 inch tubeless tyres with drum brakes at both ends. A disc brake variant is also expected to be launched in the future.
The Gusto 125 also continues with features like…
- Height adjustable seat
- Remote flip key
- Find me lamps
It also gets a storage space near the instrumentation console and an innovative front facing kick start, seen first in the Gusto 110. This feature allows you to kick start the scooter without having to unsaddle yourself and put the scooter on the centre stand.
The Mahindra Gusto 125 is available in 4 colour themes which include:
- Orange Rush (dual tone)
- Bolt White (dual tone)
- Monarch Black
- Regal Red
