So, the unofficial chirpings about the official launch date of two of the most awaited bikes in India – KTM RC200 and RC390 are gaining momentum with each passing day.
In our earlier report, we have shared the RC390 (and/or RC200’s) launch date anytime between August 29th till September first half. Building upon the story, Facebook page of KTM RC 390 reports, with conviction, that the RC390 will be launched on 9th September in India.
It must be borne in mind that KTM and Bajaj have been mum about this but its almost certain that the launch will take place on one of these dates. We believe, along with the RC390, KTM may also launch the smaller sibling RC200 together. Dealer meet and their sales staff training will be completed within this month.
The RC390 will be powered by the 373.2cc single cylinder mill from the Duke 390 and churns out 43 horses. The RC200 shares Duke 200’s mill and returns 25hp of power. Apart from the fairing, there will be a few more changes on the RC twins from their naked counterparts. There is also the smallest sibling RC125 which, like the Duke 125, will not be launched here.
RC200 is expected to be priced at around Rs 1.75 Lakhs and the RC390 will make you poorer by about Rs 2.4 Lakhs, both on road prices. Official bookings have not begun so far and according to the information we have, if there are any KTM dealers taking bookings, they are unofficial.
So, the countdown has begun and its a matter of a few weeks before the first RCs make way onto our nearest Bajaj KTM Pro-biking showrooms. How many of you are ready?
