RC125 latest price hike takes it further away from the R15 which is a rage in this segment. Duke 125 is closing in on the MT15 as well.
Duke 125 and RC 125 are two of the most affordable KTM bikes in the range. Duke 125 debuted first at a price of around 1.18 Lakh ex-showroom less than a year back. KTM labelled it as ‘introductory’ and by June it had raised price tags by couple of times already. In a latest, the company has increased Duke’s prices for the third time since launch. On the other hand, price of the RC 125 has been hiked for the first time since its launch in June 2019 in the Indian market.
A report at Autocar claims that this new hike is to increase dealer margins since the 125s have become company’s largest selling models.

While the Duke 125 sees an increase of Rs. 2,248 and now costs Rs 1,32,500, the RC 125 sees a rise of Rs 1,537 and is now priced at Rs 1,48,750 (all prices, ex-showroom). With this hike, the Duke 125 comes closer to the MT15 whereas the RC125 further increases gap with the R15.

The 124.7 cc liquid-cooled engines of these baby KTMs churn 14.5 PS of power at 9250 rpm and 12 Nm of maximum torque at 8000 rpm. The engine is mated to a six-speed gearbox. Both Duke 125 and RC 125 are equipped with 43 mm upside down front forks and a mono-shock suspension at the rear. Braking on the two motorcycles are through 300 mm and 230 mm discs at the front and rear respectively. Single channel ABS is standard on both the motorcycles.

Both the 125s share the chassis, fuel tank, swingarm, suspensions and other components with their elder siblings.
