Kawasaki Z650RS India launch may be very soon – probably in the coming weeks after this latest spotting on our soil…
Not long after its global unveiling, the Z650 RS has been spotted doing test runs on the Indian roads. This means a festive season or a new year launch is on the cards.
The test unit was camouflaged but the spoked alloy wheels, Kawasaki signature pillion grab rails, round headlamp, the twin-cylinder exhaust revealed the retro roadster easily.
The midsized Z650RS comes with an LCD meter console and full-LED lighting. The design, as we previously discussed, has been completely borrowed from the Z900 RS. The 650cc retro also gets features such as dual-channel ABS and slipper-assist clutch.
Coming to the powertrain, the engine of the Z650 RS is carried over from the naked sports Z650. The mid-capacity RS uses a parallel-twin motor that delivers 67.3 bhp of max power and 64 Nm peak torque.

Globally, the Jap is making the Z650RS available in three color options – Metallic Spark Black, Candy Emerald Green, and Metallic Moondust Grey/Ebony. Expect similar color palette to get carried over to the India-spec variant.
The new Kawasaki Z650 RS may be priced around INR 6 Lac – close to what the Z650 is being offered.
