Price Slashed; Kawasaki W175 Now Costs Lesser Than Yamaha FZ-X

Kawasaki W175 price now becomes the main USP of the entry roadster. It undercuts all its rivals and this is the Jap’s best shot in the volumes market…

It always looked like Kawasaki was serious with its W175 for India – the entry level motorcycle that looks extremely utilitarian. It introduced it in whichever way it could but the Jap has given it a much needed price slash that makes it an interesting preposition in the Indian market.

Kawasaki recently introduced the W175 Street version at 1.35 Lakh at the India Bike Week and now the standard version has seen a major price correction of almost Rs 25,000. Here are the latest prices of the roadster..

At these prices, the W175 now significantly undercuts all its rivals – Ronin, Hunter 350 and even the Yamaha FZ-X. All the color variants of the W175 are now cheaper than the FZ-X by a fairly big margin.

After 6 Months How is Kawasaki’s Cheapest W175 Doing…?

The W175, otherwise, remains unchanged and continues with the same 177cc, air-cooled, single cylinder engine that churns 13 PS of peak power at 7500 rpm and 13.2 Nm of max torque at 6000 rpm. In terms of features the relatively basic motorcycle comes with 17 inch spoke wheels (the Street version gets alloys), semi-digital instrumentation, 270 mm front disc brake as well as single channel ABS.

With a bigger engine and higher power than the FZX, do you think the W175 will now come into the reckoning of a lot of mainstream buyers and be a high seller for Kawasaki..? Can it affect other motorcycles too..?
