In an official invite we have received yesterday evening, it has been cleared that Kawasaki is launching a ‘new product’ in India. The date is 4th September 2013 and the proceedings start at 11:30am in Pune.
Next question is: What is Kawasaki launching in India?
So, for all the power bike prospects looking out for the Green! here it is just for you! Kawasaki will be launching either or both ZX-10R and ZX-14R in the country. In the invite mail, it is mentioned that
India Kawasaki Motors Pvt Ltd. cordially invites you for the launch of the new product
So, they have not cleared what is coming from them and have left it to us to guess but ‘product’ without an ‘s’ might mean only the ZX-10R is coming for now and ZX-14R may come later.
Sweet murmurs of Kawasaki planning these monsters for India began as early as May this year. They reached a crescendo last month and that is when we came to know that these high-displacement motorcycles are indeed headed our way!
The Ninja ZX-10R is company’s flagship liter class motorcycle which pumps out a massive 200.1PS from its 998cc motor (and 209.9PS with RAM Air) and a maximum torque of 112Nm. The ZX-10R competes with the Honda Fireblade, Yamaha R1, BMW S1000RR etc internationally. It comes with some fantastic features and an optional ABS. We expect it to be priced close to the 15 Lakh price bracket.
On the other hand the ZX-14R is known as the pinnacle of speed. It is already termed as the fastest production bike in the world beating the earlier Suzuki Hayabusa. It produces 210bhp of power output from its monstrous 1441cc engine. The ZX-14R gets a standard slipper clutch, monocoque frame and an optional ABS.
