After a lot of hype that was built up, Honda today officially launched its new Hornet 2.0 in the Indian market. As its name suggests, this is the second generation of the Hornet which the company used to sell in India.
Hornet 2.0 comes with a bigger 184.40 cc, 4 stroke, Bharat stage 6 compliant, fuel injected engine which can produce 17.27 PS of peak power at 8500 rpm and 16.1 Nm of max torque at 6000 rpm. Honda also claims that this motorcycle has the best mid-range torque in the segment. This is the same engine platform that the X-Blade and the new Unicorn 160 use but with a bigger bore.
This means that the Hornet 160R is no more and Honda will enter the 180-200cc segment for the first time in the country. It is also the biggest made in India motorcycle from Honda.
Honda says that the new Hornet 180 is built on a new platform. It comes with features like Upside Down front forks, negative LCD display, wider 140 mm rear tyre, engine stop and hazard switch etc. All the lights – headlamp, tail lamp and side blinkers are LEDs.
