Is this the Next Honda 500 for India? Showcased at a Dealer

Honda CB500F India launch in the pipeline? The company has kept it on display at one of its showrooms to gauge customer interest and feedback…

Apart from consolidating its bread and butter business of conventional low displacement scooters and motorcycles, Honda is also working on the premium spectrum. It has already launched some interesting motorcycles in the affordable segment with the latest being the CB300F. You can check how good/bad it is in our review.

Apart from that the company also sells bigger CB500X ADV in India that has received lukewarm response but mainly because of its over-optimistic pricing. Now, looks like Honda is trying to gauge the response for the next motorcycle on this 500 platform – the CB500F. The company has kept the streetfighter on display at its BigWing showroom in Bangalore.

The CB500F looks simple, without a lot of aggression in styling and Honda promotes it as an everyday-use motorcycle. The bike in grey and black dual color is seen sharing the showroom space with bigger CBR650R.

WAIT.. WHAT…? Is Honda Testing XRE 300 In India??

CB500X – The other 500 that Honda has already tried in India…

The CB500F is equipped with a 471cc, liquid cooled, parallel twin engine that produces about 46 bhp of power and 43 Nm of torque. There is a 6-speed gearbox apart from a slip and assist clutch. Other features include an LED headlamp, 41 mm Showa Big Piston front forks, twin 296 mm front disc brakes and two 4-piston radial-mount calipers.

We suggest Honda to consider bringing the naked here only if it can price it well (or at least reasonably well) – around the Rs 4-4.5 Lakh mark – to make a case for the CB500F. What do you think…?
