It has hardly been two months when Hero officially launched the new full faired Xtreme 200S in India. It was a surprise announcement as we only knew about the Xpulse twins back then.

Xtreme 200S was launched at a price tag of Rs 98,500 in May and within a couple of months, Hero has raised the prices by Rs 900. Not that this is a very big amount but the only question is – why don’t they pre-calculate and finalise prices factoring in the foreseeable six odd months at least! The other motorcycle in the range – Xtreme 200R has also seen a price revision of Rs 1000.
Surprisingly, the Xpulse twins, which were launched alongside the 200S, have not been touched and they continue to be offered at their older prices. We will not come to know if this has anything to do with the demand these models are generating…
Xtreme 200S was the last minute entry and comes as a faired sports motorcycle in Hero’s portfolio and, kind of, replaces the Karizma. But unlike Karizma it is promoted as a city street bike and comes equipped with the carburetted engine from the 200R.
