The new teaser by Hero reveals that Vida VX2 will be offered with a BaaS subscription program to ensure a lower initial cost of purchase.
Hero MotoCorp will expand its electric scooter portfolio under the Vida sub-brand by launching the VX2 e-scooter on July 1, 2025 in the Indian market. The company has released multiple teasers of the upcoming Hero electric scooter in India on its various social media handles. The latest teaser reveals that the Vida VX2 will come with “Battery As A Service” (BaaS) subscription model in order to reduce the upfront pricing. Furthermore, it will facilitate the customers with easy and flexible monthly payment plans.
We have seen the BaaS program being introduced by automobile manufacturers in the electric four-wheeler industry. Predominantly JSW-MG Motor India is one of leading automakers to offer the BaaS initiative with two of its EV models namely Comet and Windsor. However, it is for the first time that we will see the BaaS program in the e2w industry. It is expected to bring down the ex-showroom price of the VX2 significantly.
The BaaS program separates the cost of the battery and the scooter. Hence, the initial cost of the product is reduced substantially and the customer needs to pay on a monthly basis according to the battery usage. The complete details of the Hero’s pay-as-you-go battery subscription program are likely to be revealed in the coming days as we inch closer to the official launch.

Meanwhile, coming back to Vida VX2, it will be the most affordable electric scooter by Hero till date as the starting price is believed to be Rs 65,000 (ex-showroom). It was recently spotted undisguised at a company dealership in Matte Yellow paint scheme. Some of the notable features in the upcoming e-scooter will be LED headlamp, LED tail-lamp cluster, front disc brake and 12-inch dual-tone alloy wheels among others.
Being the rebranded version of the Vida Z, the VX2 will share the battery pack, electric motor and multiple other components with the V2. Though it will miss out on several premium features, we expect the technical specs to be almost identical. The Vida VX2 is likely to house the same 2.2 kWh – 3.9 kWh battery packs while returning a maximum range of 150+ km on a full charge.

Hero presently has a massive network of 3600 fast chargers across the country. It has more than 500 touch points in 100+ cities in the domestic market. Hero Vida VX2 will rival Ola S1 Z and the upcoming budget-friendly e-scooters from Ather and TVS in the country. However, initially, it will have a free run as the deliveries of the Ola S1 Z have been delayed infinitely.
