Hero MotoCorp – world’s largest manufacturer of motorcycles and scooters in terms of volumes, has boasted their highest-ever sales in the global market in any calendar year. They sold a total of 2.89 Lakh units of motorcycles and scooters in their markets of Asia, Africa, South & Central America and the Caribbean in the calendar year 2021.
This amounts to a growth of a whopping 71% over the same period in the previous year of 2020 when they sold 1.69 Lakh units. Hero MotoCorp has claimed that they have achieved this extraordinary feat as a result of their new R4 strategy – Recalibrate, Revitalize, Revolutionize, Revive.
Though Hero have been late to the party, they have done well to expand their global footprint to over 42 countries across three continents. During the third quarter (October-December) they inaugurated their new exclusive dealership in Dubai, which strengthened their presence in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Following suit, they also inaugurated a flagship dealership in Buenos Aires, in partnership with Gilera Motors in Argentina.

For the month of December, Hero sold a total of 3,94,773 units of motorcycles and scooters, in both domestic as well as the international markets, registering a growth of 13% month over month. However, their year-on-year numbers against last December show a drop of almost 12 percent.
For the third quarter of FY22, the company’s total volumes stood at 12,92,136 units.

Hero Motocorp have also announced that they are gearing-up to unveil their first Electric Vehicle (EV) in March of 2022. Their new EV will be produced at the company’s manufacturing facility at Chittoor in the state of Andhra Pradesh.
Hero have recently introduced a range of new two-wheelers in the third quarter. On the motorcycle front, they launched the Xtreme 160R Stealth Edition and the XPulse 200 4 valve. In scooters, they launched the new Pleasure+ Xtec during the festive period.
