Interesting: Hero Electric Showcases India’s First Trike AE3 [AE2020]

Hero AE3 trike launch plans in place it appears. We discuss the specs, features and details of the very interesting revelation of the Auto Expo 2020…

The last impressive trike I remember was the Yamaha Nikken but it is an extravagant motorcycle/three-wheeler. I am not even sure about its practicality but it appears to be an engineering marvel.

At the ongoing Auto Expo, Hero Electric, India’s biggest electric two-wheeler manufacturer surprised everyone by showcasing an electric trike called as AE3. AE3 definitely looks an interesting transportation option and since it is coming from an otherwise conventional player, it is all the more astonishing.

AE3 is powered by a 5500 watt motor and a 48V, 4kWh Lithium battery. Hero claims a top speed of 80 km/hr and a maximum range of 100 km per charge. The trike takes five hours for full charge.

Coming to its innovative features, AE3 is equipped with self-standing Gyroscopic stability feature which can be enabled by Auto balance park switch. It has a full digital instrumentation, mobile charger, GPS, GPRS, real-time tracking as well as geofencing. Hero has also equipped the trike with a reverse assist feature along with something called as ‘walk assist’.
