Heads Up: KEEWAY Enters India; Unveils K-Light 250V Cruiser

Keeway K-Light 250V cruiser will sit in the relatively niche twin cylinder quarter liter cruiser segment in India and it does look interesting…

Hungarian brand Keeway, sister company to Benelli and owned by Chinese QJ Group, have finally entered India after a long spell of speculations. It has unveiled three products and have shared their ambitious future plans for our country.

They have, today, unveiled a new Cruiser bike along with two scooters for our market. The cruiser bike is called – K-Light 250V – and the two scooter offerings are named – Vieste 300 & Sixties 300i. Bookings for all three models have begun from today at Rs. 10,000/-.

The first motorcycle offering with which Keeeway has marked its entry in India is their popular ā€˜K-Light 250Vā€™ cruiser bike. It will be offered in three colours – Matte Black, Matte Blue & Matte Dark Grey.

The price for the cruiser bike will be revealed by the company in a week’s time.

The K-Light 250V sports traditional cruiser design and aesthetics. Long wheelbase with single headlight, long-two-piece seat with backrest for the pillion, twin-exhaust pipes, muscular fuel tank all of this give the bike the butch cruiser presence.

Powering the K-Light 250V is a 249 cc, air-cooled, V-twin, belt-driven engine that puts out 18.7 HP and 19 Nm of torque. The engine transfers the power through a 5-speed transmission system.

Features on offer on this cruiser – LED headlight with round DRLs, a massive 20 L fuel capacity, 16ā€ alloys, USD suspension at the front, single-disc setup at both ends aided by dual-channel ABS and much more.

Though not a stonker in terms of engine specs, the K-Light 250V does appear to be an interesting offering in the relatively lesser congested segment. If Keeway can price it aggressively we may have a nice little offering for cruiser fans.
