Gixxer 250 deliveries are now commencing in most of the cities. The remaining cities shall also start getting the motorcycles soon…
Amidst a lot of fanfare and after a long wait, Suzuki eventually launched the new Gixxer 250 in India on May 20th, followed by its media ride a day later at the Buddh International Circuit in Noida.
Currently launched only in the full faired ‘SF’ guise, Suzuki has commenced deliveries of the motorcycle according to a post at the company’s official Facebook page. Mr Rahul from Mumbai has become one of the first owner of the quarter liter motorcycle. It is the Metallic Mat Black colour that he has chosen over the only other colour on offer – Metallic Mat Platinum Silver.
Gixxer 250 comes with an India-specific development and a 249 cc oil cooled, SOHC single cylinder engine which can produce 26.5 PS of peak power at 9000 rpm and 22.6 Nm of maximum torque at 7500 rpm. The motor is mated to a 6-speed gearbox and a dual channel ABS unit is a standard fitment.
Suzuki appears to have adopted a one-price policy like Dominar 400. We checked its website and the Gixxer 250 has a single price of Rs 170,655 ex-showroom in a lot of cities, including Mumbai.
Along with the 250, Suzuki has also launched the 150 SF in the same refreshed avatar. Next up is the naked Gixxer range which is expected to get updated with similar changes. The Gixxer 250 streetfighter may be priced at around Rs 1.50 Lakh which will make it an interesting preposition in this price range (more details).
