Orxa Mantis launch has been delayed due to various reasons but the promising start-up now looks all set to venture in the premium electric motorcycle space…
Last year, Ultraviolette Automotive launched the F77 in India in the entry level performance segment. The motorcycle looks absolutely stunning and very different from the current crop of electric products that we have been seeing.
Another new start-up Orxa Energies is also eyeing this space and has been showcasing its Mantis electric motorcycle since the last few years. In fact, if I am not wrong the Mantis was first unveiled in 2019, however, due to the COVID pandemic the launch got delayed.
But as promised last year, the Orxa Mantis will finally be launched in India on the 21st of November at an event in Bangalore. The Mantis is said to be a completely developed in India project. It features an animalistic styling that does look interesting and sporty.
Though the final specifications of the motorcycle are not known yet, but the bug-eyed Mantis was powered by a motor that churned 18 KW of continuous power (peak power rating of 28 KW) along with a 9 KWH battery back at the 2022 IBW. It was said that the battery would take about 5-6 hours for a complete charge from a conventional home socket. Orxa promised a range of about 150 km on highways and 200 km on highways. The company also said that the electric motorcycle will also get a provision of fast charging.

How much of this goes to the actual production motorcycle will only be ascertained on the launch date and there could be some other surprises in store for us as well. The launch price would hover around that Rs 3 lakh price point and the EV is not FAME II eligible.
I will also get to test ride the Mantis around the same time, so stay tuned for BikeAdvice’s review as well…
