Engineers Joining Hero Honda from Other Major Manufacturers!

We had a news recently on Honda trying to convince Hero Honda dealers to get converted as Honda dealers. Now, the news is that Hero Honda has poached as much as 150 engineers from other major two wheeler manufacturers in India. This move is done with the sole intention of improvising Hero Honda’s Research and Development (R&D) team, which is the lifeline for any manufacturer, be it for X, Y or Z.

These engineers are from other major manufacturers in this field which includes Yamaha, Bajaj Auto and   Mahindra two wheelers as well.  HH plans to deploy its R&D executives under different verticals such as  regulations, design, technology and engine to bring in greater focus to the growing talent pool, according to  two senior industry officials familiar with the development.

Here is the list of people who have joined Hero Honda recently.  TM Bala Raman has recently joined from Bajaj Auto as the technical advisor, LS Kurien has joined Hero Honda, from testing agency Centre for Automotive Technology. Arun Kejriwal is from Yamaha Motors. Others such as Amit Lingwall, Rajvir Singh, Abhinav Tyagi are few among the mid-level and junior engineers who have joined Hero Honda, of late.

Hero Honda’s Managing Director Mr.Pawan Kumar Munjal said, “We are fast enhancing our own R&D capabilities in terms of both manpower and logistics”.

The reason for this move can be the fact that Hero Honda has plans to enter Latin America and few other Africans nations latest by the end of this current fiscal year and therefore wants to strengthen its R&D so as to cater the international needs apart from leading the domestic scene.

As per the agreement between Hero Motors and Honda, the latter is supposed to provide technological aid and support to the former till the year 2014. But probably, Hero group wants to maintain its position as the world’s largest two wheeler manufacturer even after the split which occurred in recent times.
