Duke 390 & Duke 200 Prices slashed: Cheaper by Rs 5600

If you were disheartened by the recent increase in prices of Duke 390, here is something which can bring that smile back to you. KTM, in an official communication, has communicated that they have slashed the prices of both of its motorcycles in India – Duke 390 & Duke 200.

The actual price reduction on KTM Duke 390 is Rs 5600 on the ex-showroom (New Delhi) price of the motorcycle whereas for the Duke 200, this reduction is Rs 4500. With this price cut, the new prices of Duke 390 and 200 are as follows:

  • Duke 390: Rs 1,80,942
  • Duke 200: Rs 1,30,787

*both prices ex-showroom Delhi

The reason, as you already know by now, is the 4% reduction in excise duties by the government from 12 percent to 8 percent on motorcycles. Though KTM claims that they have passed on the entire benefits to the customers, a simple calculation reveals that the reduction is somewhere around 3 percent which brings Duke 390’s prices back to the region where they were at launch.

Amit Nandi, Vice President of KTM Bajaj sounded confident about an increase in sales with this price reduction. On the other hand, Kawasaki has also reduced prices of their Ninja 300 to Rs 3,38,584 and Ninja 650 to Rs 4,92,111 ex-showroom New Delhi.

We suggest you to hurry up as these reduced prices may be applicable only till June 2014, after which, if we have a new government at the center, they may want to revoke the reduction and we may go to earlier figures.
