With the recent update on Ducati setting shop in Gurgaon, a new report has given a date to their official Indian re-launch.
As per an article on Overdrive, Ducati will start their second Indian innings from 18th of March this year. There will be a change this time, a major one at that! Against the middlemen-in-between policy of last time which had many issues, Ducati will be managing the whole show themselves. Interestingly, as per Ducati’s website even Nepal has a dealership in Kathmandu! This time they appear to be serious about Indian operations and the market as a whole!
Initially they will start with two dealerships, one in Gurgaon and another in Mumbai, which may be followed by one in Bangalore, sometime soon. The report further informs that the dealership in Gurgaon will be the largest holding by the company in the continent!
It may be expected that initially Ducati may bring everything as a CBU and later on they may consider local assembly in India. Their lineup will include many motorcycles including the very practical Monster 795, sports cruiser Diavel and many in between.
There are possibilities of the Scrambler coming to India as well.
