Ducati landed foot in India a few months back, however, in an official communication they have invited us for an event on 19th June (ie day after tomorrow) where they will announce the launch of proceedings. Ducati motorcycles are already on sale in India for the last two odd months and at this 19th media event, Ducati is expected to commence deliveries of their motorcycles.
The Italian manufacturer is offering a big lineup of its motorcycles ranging from Monster 795 to the Panigales, Hypermotards and the flagship Diavels. Prices start at Rs 6.45 Lakhs (for Monster 795) and go all the way till a whooping Rs 37 Lakhs for the Diavel Titanium. The Diavel Carbon, which we have tested earlier, costs 16.89 Lakhs, lot cheaper than its initial price tag. Their most affordable motorcycle, however, will be the Scrambler, bookings of which started back in April.
Ducati’s earlier foray was with middlemen and left massive disappointment among its customers who were not provided with proper service and spare parts. Ducati, this time has returned solo and aims to bridge the gap and will also offer support to its older customers.
However, this time they have a lot bigger competition which includes Kawasaki, Triumph, Benelli and many of its international rivals! Let us see how do they plan to penetrate…
