Ducati Launches a Website Exclusively for India

Italian Motorcycle Major Ducati, which has recently come up with a big portfolio for the Indian market has launched an exclusive Indian website. The company has understood the potential of selling its bikes here and in order to make people aware of the brand, it has come up with such an idea. The URL for the website is Ducati.co.in

The website is laid out neatly and looks impressive right at the first sight. The portfolio of Ducati bikes for India has the Diavel series with two models under it namely the Diavel and the Diavel Carbon bikes. Next is the HyperMotard series with 3 models under it viz, 796, 1100 Evo and 1100 Evo SP. Following the HyperMotard series is the Monster with just one model namely the 796 under it. Then comes the really macho Multistrada series of machines with 3 models under the tag – The 1200, 1200S Sport and the 1200 S Touring. Lastly, it is the Superbike series with 848 Evo, 1198 and 1198 SP under this particular series. This is the portfolio that is mentioned in the Indian site and would be available for us in t he Indian Ducati showrooms.

There is also a link to explain all the works and contributions of Ducati along various races. Apart from the bike, there is also a link to the online store where online merchandise for men, women and for kids are separately available. Trust me, the stuff available here are just brilliant. I was going through the Ducati jackets for men and the designs were just stunning. Awesome work from Ducati. Every single product here is worth buying. I would actually prefer using the term ‘ possessing’ rather than buying.

Apart from apparels, there are also exclusive accessories that are made available for few of the Ducati machines and they all can be ordered online, though the price for most of the apparels and accessories are undisclosed.

The dealer network details and services regarding the same are provided in a separate link. The homepage brings you all the latest offerings and details about the company, right here in India and as well as all across the globe.

At this point of time, when Ducati has come up with a website for the Indian customers and their new market, I would like to share a small piece of info which I read in the Economic Times recently. According to it, Indian consumers are continuing to show strong appetite for luxury products even as consumption in the rest of the economy slows down due to inflation and sliding growth prospects. In order to prove this fact, Ducati says it will sell 300 bikes in 2011, which is a solid 200 units more than what the company sold last year. And same store sales of fashion accessory labels Jimmy Choo and Canali are growing at a rate of 30% year on year.

Mr. Ashish Chordia, chairman of Shreyans Group which recently inaugurated the first Ducati showroom in Bangalore city says, “We were in for a shock. In the first week itself, we sold 16 bikes.”

Such is the market for the brand of Ducati in India and the company is sure to scale new heights in the luxury bike segment in the near future.

M.Naren.
