CFMoto bookings are strong and the initial traction has been developed. It will have to sustain the momentum and quality control would be the key…
Chinese motorcycle maker CFMoto recently ventured in India along with its local partner AMW Motorcycles. The company commenced bookings of its motorcycles in early August which means we are about to complete two months. A few models from the lineup were introduced at shock prices and undercut all direct rivals by big margins.
A report at Financial Express quotes an unnamed spokesperson from the company who reveals that within this short span of time the absolutely unknown brand (in India) has amassed 700 bookings in total and they are on the rise every day. It also gets revealed that majority of buyers are preferring the 650s as they are better priced vis-a-vis their rivals.
CFMoto motorcycles are brought to India via the CKD (completely knocked down) route and assembled at its facility near Hyderabad. The facility has a production capacity of 10,000 units per year which could be increased based on the demand.
Within a short period of time, CFMoto has ramped up to six dealerships in India and the plan is to take this number to 15 by the end of this year. From major metros currently, the plan is to open new dealerships in Kochi, Hyderabad, etc.
The most interesting motorcycle is the streetfighter 650NK which undercuts Z650, its direct rival by a whopping 1.70 lakh on the ex-showroom price. Similar is the price difference between ADV 650MT and Kawasaki Versys 650. Tourer 650GT is the third motorcycle in the lineup along with the most affordable 300NK.
