We have all been hyped with the fact that the classic brand BSA is coming back and since then, we know a whole lot about their first product in the 21st century – the Gold Star. BSA (owned by Classic Legends) showcased the resurrection of their Gold Star motorcycle at the Motorcycle Live Show in the UK earlier in December. The bike is completely designed and developed in the UK and is scheduled to be available in the UK initially.
On 5th of December, BSA officially released the first commercial of the classic model in all its chrome-decked glory. In the commercial the bike appears to wind back the time while it leans through the winding roads. Watch it out…
BSA Gold Star Video
The new BSA Gold Star has been inspired from their popular Gold Star 650 of the yesteryears, and carry similar classic styling like the tear-drop tank, twin analogue gauges, long-swoop exhaust and retro colour scheme.
The BSA Gold Star is powered by a single-cylinder 650 cc engine that produces 45 bhp of peak power at 6000 rpm and 55 Nm of max torque at 4000 rpm. This motor is mated to a 5-speed gearbox. However, there are some modern bits like Dual Overhead Camshaft (DOHC) along with liquid cooling.
BSA is BACK! Upcoming Gold Star Unveiled
In terms of specs, Gold Star is comparable with Royal Enfield 650 twins in India but the twins come with a dual cylinder motor. The bike will continue its authentic traditional look by utilising a tubular cradle frame, wire-spoked wheels, conventional front forks and twin-shock rear suspension.
There is no clarity on Gold Star’s Indian launch. However, we will definitely wish to see the classic motor thumping around on our roads…
