Bajaj to Launch New Faired Discover 150 Next Month!

Bajaj seems to be working real hard and is trying to get back to its lost ‘second’ position from Honda. It is busy updating its top end high performance motorcycles but has not forgotten its bread earning commuter bikes.

The Bajaj Discover, which originally started as an answer to Hero Honda’s (now Hero MotoCorp) Splendor has seen it all! From 100ccs to 150ccs and is now going to get a fairing…!

This new Discover 150 with a semi-fairing has been spotted by the guys at Overdrive.in earlier and now they come up with its launch date, which according to them is June ie next month!

New Discover 150s fairing houses the jazzy pilot lamps and may make you think it looks somewhat like the Karizma ZMR (in being disproportionate :D). The structure of the fairing seems to be heavily inspired from the Pulsar 220 and the tank also seems to have been reworked a little bit to first, accommodate the fairing and second, make better knee recess. The mono suspension can be easily noticed thanks to red spring which makes it stand out.

It clearly shares the chassis with the Disco 125ST and the black alloys but gets an all-black exhaust pipe which also sports a glossy black heat guard. The grab rail continues to be the same boring unit. The black-coated engine gets a kick starter and will be tuned slightly lower than the Pulsar 150. It will be an all-new unit and not a detuned version of the Pulsar and we can safely assume four valves and twin spark engine, mated with a five speed gearbox.

The test mule had a front disc (with the same disc guard) and a rear drum unit. This Discover 150 will sit at the pinnacle of the Discover series, just under the Pulsar 150.

So, Bajaj is playing the ‘fairing’ trick in the 150cc segment and let’s hope the motorcycle looks good when get to see it in clear pics.
