Bajaj has sent us a press note with a funny headline – “Chetak bookings open and close“. And that is what it has done actually.

After a gap, Bajaj opened bookings of its lone electric scooter Chetak on the auspicious occasion of Gudi Padwa on 13th April 2021 at 9 am. It informs that many confirmed bookings were received and understanding the uncertain situation, it had to close bookings within 48 hours.

Rakesh Sharma, Executive Director of the company said that the company is conscious of the uncertain supply chain disruptions caused by the COVID led lockdowns and it does not want prospect customers to keep waiting for their steeds. Hence, bookings were closed when an appropriate number was reached. However, there is no information of how many bookings did the company receive.
