Bajaj Avenger 220cc Ownership Review by Sridhar

On road or off road this 220cc Bajaj Avenger is a monstrous beast. Before I bought this bike I didn’t even take it for a test ride, I was just in love when I first saw it in a showroom standing in the middle with pride, totally different from the other breeds – the cruiser – the beast it was Bajaj Avenger 220.

Nearly it has been 40 days I have took the bike, from then everyday has been a wow moment for me and my friends because the power is awesome and it’s an eye candy, an eye magnet. Even my dad, mom and my relatives love it, ha ha. It really Feels Like God.

Regrets

I feel that it has got a little low ground clearance than other bikes, on humps on road I close one eye n pray god let not the hump be too high to touch the bottom of my bike, hopefully not all humps are enemy to the bike but some are let say 1 out of 100. Second thing is there is a small cute box next to the battery compartment that they said that’s the box to keep your tools kit, documents and other stuffs, its soo funny that even my insurance paper can’t go in comfortably.

PreviousI had a Hero Honda Splendor bought in 2001 which was my first partner my first road guru I had great moments with it, it was a mileage king. Then I bought a Honda activa in 2005, it was fun to ride but it was not a great mileage bike and power lacked a lot so this time I wanted something more powerful and specifically I was decided no moped anymore.

The price of the bike was 95,000. I bought it on a loan paid 40,000 down payment, they charged 15% interest so it came around 1,10,000. Engine 220cc 4 stroke, DTS-i air cooled with oil cooler. Haven’t tested the mileage yet.

Tours

Not too long drives I have gone in my bike but have travelled a lot, minimum 60-70 kms daily. Once had been to mysore which is like 250 kms up-n-down and another was to kanakapura that is 110 kms up-n-down. It never feels like a long drive, the bike pushes you to go even more n more, very joyful ride every time.
