So Both the Upcoming Pulsars Will be ‘Faired’; Launch Reportedly in Two Months

After souping up its image by dilly-dallying with an Austrian powerhouse and causing much flutter with an all new naked bike, India’s second largest two-wheeler maker seems to be mounting an all-out assault. What we already know is that Bajaj is preparing a couple of new Pulsars – One below and one above the current Pulsar  200NS. To add to the information, a few new details have surfaced on these bikes.

According to MyDigitalFC.com, both these Pulsars will be faired.

Within a gap of few days, two corporations have held their Annual General Meetings, with some noticeable statements having been made. While the earlier one stated that their launches will resume after having been delayed due to strict benchmark issues, Bajaj’s MD Rajiv Bajaj announce to shareholders that they will launch two “Super-Sports” bikes by the middle of this fiscal.

Mr. Bajaj only stated that these faired bikes will be the fastest ones in their respective segments, and refused to comment any further.

At the general meeting, Mr. Bajaj was responding to queries on the company’s future vision. Bajaj Auto has been on a roll of late, having maintained the holy grail of 20% EBITDA margins. At present, Bajaj Auto has a cash surplus of 6,391 crores as against the previous year’s 5,706 crores at the same time.

Pulsar still rules the roost, arguably, when it comes to premium bikes in the nation. The Pulsar 200NS added a new facet to the brand, and grabbed quite a few awards. The other brand, Discover, has also been on a winning spree. It is now the second largest selling commuter bike in India, and there might be five more Discovers coming soon (after the latest Discover 125T).

What more is claimed is that both these new Pulsars will be launched in a couple of months or by the ‘middle of this year’. However, we are apprehensive if this is going to be true. At least one of these, Pulsar 375 is not production ready according to our sources. And it doesn’t look like that Bajaj will be able to make it one, unless they hurry up things too much. Moreover, we are not even sure about the second ‘smaller than 200’ Pulsar that has been making news. All we can guess is the Pulsar 180!

Moreover, we will really NOT call either of these Pulsars as ‘supersports’ even if we are talking in Indian context. Let’s limit it to sports bikes please!

But one thing is for sure, this is one year we are looking forward to…very eagerly..
