Aprilia Tuono 457, naked sibling of the RS 457, had its global debut at EICMA 2024 as it rivals KTM 390 Duke and Yamaha MT-03 in India
Aprilia India has finally launched the Tuono 457 at a sticker price of Rs 3.95 lakh (ex-showroom, Maharashtra) in the country. Having made its world premiere last year at EICMA in Italy, it is the naked version of the Aprilia RS 457. Aprilia Tuono 457 bookings have already commenced digitally on the brand’s website in India at a token payment of Rs 10,000. The test rides for the customers and first deliveries are promised from the first week of March 2025 at select Aprilia India dealerships across the country.
Based on the same 457 aluminium frame, the Tuono is presented in two colour options namely Piranha Red and Puma Grey. Projected as a ‘true naked bike’ by the brand, it gets an all-LED cluster upfront which retains the signature triple headlight that we have seen in all Aprilia models. It is flanked by a small lower spoiler which pays tribute to the Tuono 1000 R twin-cylinder.

Some other notable design elements include a newly-styled fuel tank, wider handlebar, new side panels and LED tail-lamps. The exhaust pipe is located under the engine, which is intentionally left uncovered along with the twin-beam aluminium frame. The saddle height is rated at 800 mm and it is tapered at both the sides in order to assist the riders during foot placement on the ground. The customers can also avail a single-seat tailpiece as an accessory.
The bike rides on 17-inch wheels with section 110/70 tyre at the front and 150/60 tyre at rear. It comes packed with a myriad of bells and whistles in the form of Ride by Wire system, three Riding Modes (Eco, Sport & Rain), Aprilia Traction Control, Aprilia Quick Shift (bi-directional quickshifter), 5-inch TFT coloured instrument console, Bluetooth connectivity with Aprilia India app, Turn-by-turn Navigation and Call alerts.

Aprilia Tuono 457 is offered with preload adjustable 41 mm USD front suspension with travel of 120 mm and rear shock absorber with 130 mm travel. The stopping power comes from a pair of ByBre callipers which work with a 320 mm radially mounted disc unit at front and 220 mm disc brake at the rear. The Tuono 457 boasts of a Bosch dual-channel ABS with dual-mapping as standard.
Mechanically, the Tuono 457 is powered by the same 457 cc twin-cylinder liquid-cooled petrol engine which we saw with the RS 457. It churns out top power of 47 bhp at 9400 rpm and peak torque of 43.5 Nm at 6700 rpm. The company claims that 82 percent of the total torque is already available from 3000 rpm onwards. The engine is linked to a 6-speed transmission. Having a dry weight of just 159 kg, Aprilia Tuono 457 has the best power to weight ratio in its segment. The bike rivals KTM 390 Duke and Yamaha MT-03 in the Indian market.
