Storm 125 launch will give Aprilia a refreshed scoot in the lineup. It will come equipped with CBS as standard!
Aprilia showcased a sportier version of the SR125 at the Auto Expo last year. Dubbed as Storm 125, it was on display in two matte colours – red and yellow and both of them looked very attractive.
The Storm will be powered by the same 125cc 9.6PS/9.9 Nm, single cylinder engine of the SR125 but it will be equipped with smaller 12 inch tyres. However, these smaller tyres are wider, knobby rubber – sizes – 120/80 front and 130/80 rear. The showcased models wore Vee Ruber tyres but the India-spec scooter is expected to get localised rubber, which will also be cheaper.
Storm 125 Launch
Storm 125 was scheduled for a launch earlier this year but Bikewale reveals that dealerships had a large stock of SR125 and hence Storm’s introduction was pushed to April. They also share that Aprilia will commence bookings of the scooter from 1st April itself with deliveries commencing from the launch day.
To adhere to the mandate, Storm 125 will come equipped with CBS (combined braking system) as standard. There are online reports which predict that Storm 125 could be priced lower than SR125, which if goes true, will mean that it will be the cheapest Aprilia in the lineup. Expect a bigger 150cc version of the scooter in the times to come.
A little while back, company’s top official has also revealed new details about their upcoming sports 150cc motorcycles!
