Apache 160 ABS price is Rs 6500 more than the standard non-ABS version…
If you are unaware, TVS is selling two Apache 160s in India – one based on the older-gen model and the other a newer-gen product with a 4 valve engine, obviously at different price points. The older-gen Apache 160 has been spotted wearing Anti-lock braking system at a dealerships suggesting that TVS is taking it ahead, over the March 31st deadline (which mandates motorcycles over 125cc to be equipped with ABS).
Not surprisingly, the motorcycle is equipped with a single-channel unit to keep costs as low as possible. Apart from the ABS ring on the front tyre and ‘ABS’ logo on the mudguard nothing else appears to be different. Mechanicals are expected to be untouched with the same 159.7 cc 15.12 PS/13.03 Nm single cylinder engine continuing duty.
Non-ABS Apache 160 weighs 137 kg (kerb) and there may be a minor weight increment because of the additional ABS equipment.

Apart from these pics, Autocar has also shared the prices and as you can see, the motorcycle is on offer in both single (front) disc and dual (front + rear) disc variants and TVS is charging a premium of Rs 6000/6500 over the standard variants. TVS is yet to disseminate an official word on this.
