The 2027 Kawasaki Z650RS has been launched in the Indian market at a sticker price of Rs 7.83 lakh (ex-showroom). It has been offered in the same Metallic Ocean Blue colourway as the outgoing model at an identical price. The rest of the motorcycle remains untouched with all the styling elements, cycle parts and features retained from the preceding version. The Japanese brand had recently launched the MY27 updates of the Vulcan S, Versys 1100, Versys 650, Ninja 500 and Ninja 300 in the local market in India.
The 2027 Z650RS is powered by the same 649cc parallel-twin liquid-cooled engine which generates max power of 67.3 bhp at 8000 rpm and peak torque of 64 Nm at 6700 rpm. The engine is linked to a 6-speed transmission. The torque output has been increased by 1.9 Nm as compared to the outgoing model. The bike continues to ride on 17-inch wheels at both the ends.
Sitting on a tubular diamond frame of high-tensile steel, the 2027 Kawasaki Z650RS comes fitted with 120/70 section front and 160/60 section rear tyres. It has a wheelbase of 1,405 mm while the saddle height stands at 800 mm. The neo-retro bike comes with a ground clearance of 125 mm. The buyers can fill up to 12 litres of petrol in one go.
Tipping the weighing scale at 179 kg, the 2027 Kawasaki Z650RS is rolled out with 41 mm telescopic front forks and horizontal back-link rear suspension. The stopping power comes from dual 300 mm disc units at front and a single 220 mm disc brake at the rear. The neo-retro motorcycle boasts of Kawasaki Traction Control System and Anti-lock Braking System as standard safety features.
A few other notable features onboard the 2027 Kawasaki Z650RS are Assist & slipper clutch, Economical riding indicator, spoke-style cast wheels, round LED headlamp and dual-pod instrument cluster with multi-function LCD display. As compared to the upswept tail section of the Z650, it flaunts a horizontal line which flanks the neo-retro model’s flat stance and LED tail-lamp cluster.
Kawasaki has offered a wide and flat handlebar to offer a relaxed riding position. The trellis frame weighs merely 13.5 kg and hence contributes upto a huge extent in the lightweight character of the 2027 Z650RS. The neo-retro bike has multiple worthy challengers in the Indian market which includes Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 and Triumph Trident 660.
