The 2027 KLX230 range has become pricier than before despite getting a handful of visual and hardware-specific updates in the Indian market
Kawasaki India has launched the 2027 KLX230 range at a starting price of Rs 1.89 lakh (ex-showroom) in the country. While the KLX230 and KLX230R S have been retained with a handful of updates, the company has introduced a new variant in the form of the KLX230 S. The 2027 Kawasaki KLX230 is locally manufactured in India as it directly rivals Hero Xpulse 200 in the entry-level adventure bike segment. The deliveries of the road-legal 2027 KLX230 and KLX230 S will start from mid-Sep while the off-road spec 2027 KLX230R S will reach customers by mid-Aug.
2027 Kawasaki KLX230
Kawasaki has hiked the price of the 2027 KLX230 by around Rs 35,000 as the preceding model (MY26) was sold at Rs 1.84 lakh as compared to the 2027 KLX230 which comes at a price point of Rs 2.19 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). It will be available in two colour schemes namely Battle Gray and Lime Green in a single full-loaded ‘Standard’ variant with identical styling, features and engine specs as its predecessor.
The front and rear suspension travel stands at 220 mm and 223 mm, respectively. It has a ground clearance of 255 mm while the saddle height is pegged at 880 mm. The 2027 KLX230 has a dry weight of 133 kg. The ADV bike is powered by the same 233cc single-cylinder air-cooled petrol engine which generates max power of 18.4 bhp and peak torque of 19 Nm while paired to a 6-speed gearbox.
2027 Kawasaki KLX230 S
The latest variant in the KLX230 range is purely meant for short-heighted riders. It has a relatively lower saddle height of 830 mm while the ground clearance is also kept at 220 mm as compared to the 255 mm of the standard KLX230. The 2027 KLX230 S has reduced suspension travel of 160mm front unit and 163mm rear on the rear unit. Apart from these updates, it is identical to the KLX230 in terms of features, pricing and engine specs.
2027 Kawasaki KLX230R S
The 2027 KLX230R S has become more expensive by Rs 10,000 as compared to the previous model which was retailed at a price point of Rs 1.79 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). Among the updates, the most impressive one is the repositioning of the handlebar by 25mm further forward for better control over the machine. The fuel tank capacity has been increased from 6.6 litres to 7.5 litres.
The 2027 Kawasaki KLX230R S comes with a 20 mm shorter seat height than the 2026 model. It will only be available in the Lime Green colour without the front headlight and other road-legal equipment. Riding on 21-inch front and 18-inch rear wheels, it uses the same engine as the other KLX230 motorcycles.
