BMW F 450 GS India Launch Confirmed on Apr 23, 2026

The F 450 GS will finally go on sale in the Indian market from Apr 23 at an estimated starting price of Rs 4 lakh (ex-showroom)

BMW Motorrad India will finally launch the F 450 GS on Apr 23, 2026 in the country. The twin-cylinder adventure motorcycle will be locally developed by TVS at the Hosur factory in Tamil Nadu. The German brand confirmed the launch by releasing a teaser image of the upcoming ADV bike with the date on its official social media handles. Several BMW dealers in big cities like Pune, Gurgaon and Chennai have started accepting bookings for the F 450 GS at a token payment of Rs 50,000 as it is likely to cost around Rs 4 lakh (ex-showroom).

BMW F 450 GS made its global debut in production-ready form at the EICMA 2025 in Italy. The production of the F 450 GS commenced on Nov 27, 2025 at TVS plant, which is like 5 months from now. Sitting on a tubular frame, the F 450 GS rides on 19-inch front and 17-inch rear alloy wheels while fitted with tubeless tyres. The buyers also have the option of choosing cross-spoke wheels as they are generally considered the best for off-roading.

Some of the notable design highlights of the F 450 GS include LED headlight with “X” daytime riding light, upswept stainless steel muffler, and 100/90-19 front & 130/80-17 rear tubeless tyres. The adventure motorcycle has been designed and developed in Germany but it will be produced in India. BMW F 450 GS will be the brand’s entry-level ADV bike in India after the phasing out of the G 310 GS.

The suspension setup consists of KYB-sourced USD telescopic front forks and double-sided rear swing arm with adjustable spring preload and rebound damping. As for the braking system, it gets disc units at both ends. The standard saddle height is tipped at 845 mm. However, the customers have the option of selecting lower and higher seats in the form of Black rider (830 mm) and Rallye unit (865 mm).

BMW has packed the F 450 GS with a plethora of bells and whistles in the form of Ride Modes (Rain, Road, Enduro, and Enduro Pro), Dynamic Traction Control (DTC), Easy Ride Clutch (ERC), Dynamic Brake Control (DBC), Dynamic Brake Control (DBC) and ABS Pro. The ADV bike gets a 6.5-inch TFT instrument console with Bluetooth connectivity for advanced features such as navigation, music playback and answer/reject phone calls.

At the heart, the F 450 GS has the 420cc twin-cylinder water-cooled engine which generates max power of 47 bhp at 8750 rpm and highest torque of 43 Nm at 6750 rpm. The engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox. It is capable of clocking a top speed of 165 kmph. BMW F 450 GS rivals in India will include Royal Enfield Himalayan 450, Kawasaki Ninja 500 and KTM 390 Adventure.
