Yamaha R15 Price Slashed by Up To Rs 5000

Yamaha R15 has become cheaper by Rs 5,000 from today as part of the brand’s 70th Anniversary celebrations in the country

Yamaha India has slashed the price of the R15 motorcycle range by up to Rs 5000 in the country. Effective from Jan 5, the special price savings has been announced to commemorate Yamaha’s 70th Anniversary. Hence, Yamaha R15 price in India now starts at Rs 1.51 lakh for the S variant while the V4 trim is priced at Rs 1.66 lakh, followed by the range-topping M grade which gets an updated pricing of Rs 1.81 lakh. All the prices mentioned before are ex-showroom, Delhi. Yamaha has sold over 1 million units of R15 in India till date.

Sitting on the renowned Deltabox frame, Yamaha R15 comes with an array of advanced features in the form of Traction Control System, Assist and Slipper Clutch, Quick Shifter on select variants, Upside-Down Front Forks, and Linked-Type Monocross Rear Suspension. The R15 S is available in three colour schemes namely Matte Black, Racing Blue and Matte Black 2.

The R15 V4 model line-up comes in a total of six paint shades namely Matte Pearl White, Metallic Black, Racing Blue, Intensity White, Dark Knight and Metallic Red. The top-of-the-line R15 M range is offered in three colour options in the form of Metallic Grey, Icon Performance and Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP Edition. All the three variants are E20 fuel compatible.

Yamaha R15

Yamaha R15 has a fuel tank capacity of 11 litres. It tips the weighing scale at 142 kg (kerb weight). The fully-faired bike has a ground clearance of 170 mm while the saddle height is pegged at 815 mm. The R15 rides on 100/80-17M/C 52P front and 140/70R17M/C 66H rear tubeless tyres. The stopping power comes from disc brakes at both the ends.

 

Yamaha R15 is one of the most successful company models in the Indian market. It is the top-selling motorcycle in the 150cc segment in the country which has multiple heavyweights like Suzuki Gixxer 250 and Hero Karizma XMR 210. It will soon be joined by the KTM RC 160, which has been leaked ahead of its debut and could go on sale in coming weeks.

Yamaha R15

At the heart, Yamaha R15 has the 155cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine which generates max power of 18.1 bhp at 10000 rpm and peak torque of 14.2 Nm at 7500 rpm. The engine is paired with a 6-speed gearbox. Some of the notable features onboard the sportsbike are dual-channel ABS, all-LED lighting, fully digital instrument cluster and side stand engine cut-off switch.
