Upcoming Norton Atlas Adventure Bike in India – Top 5 Things

The Norton Atlas will compete with fellow adventure bikes in India such as Kawasaki Versys 650, Triumph Tiger Sport 660 and Royal Enfield Himalayan 750

Norton Motorcycles, the TVS-owned British two-wheeler brand, revealed four new bikes at the EICMA 2025 in Milan, Italy. While the Manx and Manx R are fully-faired superspots and naked superbike models, respectively, with 1200cc V4 engine, the Atlas and Atlas GT are middleweight adventure motorcycles with a 585cc twin-cylinder engine. In this piece, we will talk in detail about the Norton Atlas ADV bike which is likely to be the first company model launching in the Indian market by early 2026.

Norton Atlas India Launch

Norton Atlas will be launched in Q2 2026 in the Indian market. It will be locally developed at the TVS factory in Hosur, Tamil Nadu. Initially, the Atlas could be sold through TVS dealerships in our country until Norton established its own network of showrooms in India. The company had announced at the EICMA 2025 that it intends to set up over 200 touchpoints across several global markets including India for the retail of its new-gen bikes.

Norton Atlas Design

The Atlas, since it is an adventure motorcycle, flaunts a distinctive silhouette with dual-projector LED headlamp setup, which is complimented by the signature DRLs. The ADV bike is also packed with cornering lights and puddle lamps. The Atlas houses a rear luggage frame which has been designed alongside the lightweight steel trellis frame same as the BMW F 450 GS. Multiple premium elements such as adjustable hand levers, foot levers and tapered handlebars sum up the overall styling of the adventure bike.

The Atlas adventure motorcycle rides on 19-inch front and 17-inch rear cross-spoke wheels with Eurogrip Trailhound STR tyres. On the other hand, the Atlas GT – being the more road-centric model, gets 17-inch alloy wheels at both the ends with Eurogrip Roadhound rubber. The braking duties will be performed by Bybre-sourced twin front brake discs. The suspension details are not in public domain but wheel travel could be around 180 mm at both the ends. It could have a saddle height of approx 840 mm while the GT version could come with an even lower seat height of 810 mm.

Norton Atlas Engine

The Atlas adventure bike will be powered by the 585cc parallel-twin liquid-cooled petrol engine with a broad rev range. The peak power output could be in the ballpark of 70 bhp. The Atlas will deliver performance equivalent to Kawasaki Versys 650, claimed Norton at EICMA 2025. The British brand further stated that this 585cc engine will have the broadest torque spread in the segment. The engine could be paired with a 6-speed gearbox and slipper clutch. Though Norton has not revealed the weight of the Atlas, we believe it to be around 200-210 kg when fully fueled.
