BMW F 450 GS will become the brand’s new entry-level adventure motorcycle in India as the G 310 GS has been phased out from the Indian market
BMW F 450 GS had its world premiere in production-ready form at the EICMA 2025 on Nov 5 in Milan, Italy. We told you last week that several company dealers in India have started accepting unofficial bookings for the upcoming adventure bike at a token payment of Rs 50,000 with deliveries starting from early 2026. Now, it has been learnt that the F 450 GS could launch at the 2025 India Bike Week (IBW) in Goa, which will be held between Dec 19-20. It will be BMW’s entry-level adventure motorcycle in the Indian market against the likes of Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 and KTM 390 Adventure.
Sitting on a tubular steel frame, the F 450 GS gets LED headlight with “X” daytime riding light. The overall design is rather sharp, aggressive and stylish as it rides on 19-inch front and 17-inch rear alloy wheels with tubeless tyres. Though the customers can also opt for cross-spoke wheels. The ADV bike comes packed with an upswept stainless steel exhaust pipe as standard while an Akrapovic end muffler is offered as option.
The tubular frame is suspended by KYB-sourced USD telescopic front forks and double-sided rear swing arm with adjustable spring preload and rebound damping. The braking duties are carried out by disc units at both the ends. While the F 450 GS has a standard saddle height of 845 mm, the buyers also have the option of Black rider’s seat (830 mm) and the high Rallye seat in Black/White/Red (865 mm).

BMW F 450 GS has a fuel tank capacity of 14 litres. It houses a 6.5-inch TFT instrument cluster with navigation, music playback and accepting/declining phone calls. Some of the other notable bells and whistles include Easy Ride Clutch (ERC), Shift Assistant Pro, Ride Modes (Rain, Road, Enduro, and Enduro Pro), ABS Pro, Dynamic Brake Control (DBC), Dynamic Traction Control (DTC) and engine drag torque control (MSR).
At the heart, the F 450 GS has a 420cc twin-cylinder water-cooled petrol engine which develops maximum power output of 47 bhp at 8750 rpm and peak torque performance of 43 Nm at 6750 rpm. The engine is paired with a 6-speed gearbox while the top speed is pegged at 165 kmph. The adventure motorcycle comes with four ride modes namely Rain, Road, Enduro, and Enduro Pro.

The F 450 GS will be locally developed by TVS at the Hosur manufacturing facility in Tamil Nadu. This 450cc engine platform will also be used by TVS for its upcoming range of premium motorcycles. In fact, Norton Motorcycles, the TVS-owned British 2-Wheeler brand, will also roll out a few middleweight bikes based on this 450cc engine platform.
