BMW F 450 GS India Launch Likely In Early 2026, Bookings Begin

The F 450 GS will be the brand’s entry-level model in the Indian market with an approx starting price of Rs 4.50 lakh (ex-showroom)

BMW F 450 GS had its world premiere at the recently concluded ECIMA 2025 in Milan, Italy. Now, we have learnt that a few BMW Motorrad dealers in India have started taking pre-orders for the adventure tourer at a token amount ranging between Rs 10,000-50,000 in cities like Pune, Bengaluru and Mumbai. Though the company has not commenced official bookings, nor it has given a definite launch timeline for the F 450 GS in the Indian market. However, it is likely that the adventure motorcycle will go on sale in the first quarter of 2026 in India.

BMW F 450 GS will be manufactured locally by TVS at its production facility in Hosur, Tamil Nadu. TVS will also use the 450cc engine platform for its future models in the middleweight adventure segment. In addition, this BMW platform will also spawn a few Norton bikes, which will also be produced locally by TVS at the Hosur factory.

Design-wise, the F 450 GS looks quite aggressive with sharper styling as it flaunts LED headlight with “X” daytime riding light. Sitting on a tubular steel frame, the ADV bike rides on 19-inch front and 17-inch rear alloy wheels with tubeless tyres.The rear profile boasts of a stainless steel exhaust pipe in upswept position as standard while an Akrapovic end muffler is also available as optional accessory.

Some of the notable features onboard the F 450 GS are Easy Ride Clutch (ERC), Shift Assistant Pro, Ride Modes (Rain, Road, Enduro, and Enduro Pro), ABS Pro, Dynamic Brake Control (DBC), Dynamic Traction Control (DTC) and engine drag torque control (MSR). It is also equipped with a 6.5-inch TFT display for navigation, music playback and accepting/declining phone calls.

The suspension duties are helmed by KYB upside-down telescopic front forks and hollow-cast aluminum double-sided rear swing arm with adjustable spring preload and rebound damping. As for braking, the F 450 GS comes with a single disc unit at both the ends. The fuel tank capacity stands at 14 litres while the saddle height is pegged at 845 mm.

At the heart, BMW F 450 GS has the 420cc twin-cylinder water-cooled engine which develops top power of 47 bhp at 8750 rpm and peak torque of 43 Nm at 6750 rpm. The engine is linked to a 6-speed transmission. The ADV tourer is claimed to have a top speed of 165 kmph.
