As GST 2.0 kicks in from Sep 22, Royal Enfield 650cc models such as Shotgun 650, Bear 650 and Classic 650 will be expensive by up to Rs 29,000.
The 2025 GST reforms, also dubbed as GST 2.0, will come into effect from Sep 22 in India. While there is a wave of happiness and excitement among the public as most things have gotten cheaper, Royal Enfield is not feeling the same way as its 650cc portfolio of bikes has become even more expensive due to the increase in GST slab. In this piece, we will talk about the impact of GST 2.0 on 650cc RE bikes and their new price with variant-wise breakup.
Royal Enfield Interceptor 650: Being the oldest 650cc model in RE portfolio, it witnesses a jump in price by up to Rs 23k-25k. The company has increased the price by 7.3 percent depending on the variant. The Interceptor 650 is retailed in six paint schemes namely Cali Green, Canyon Red, Sunset Strip, Barcelona Blue, Black Ray and Mark 2.

Royal Enfield Continental GT 650: The cafe-racer styled motorcycle is one of the most popular RE models due to its peculiar design and hence, the company is also developing an even bigger 750cc version of it. However, the recent GST revision could be a big roadblock in the development of the bigger model as the existing 650cc bike has become more expensive by up to Rs 24k-26k. It is rolled out in five colours namely British Racing Green, Rocker Red, Apex Grey, Slip Stream Blue and Mr Clean.

Royal Enfield Classic 650: The bigger version of Royal Enfield’s most popular and highest sold model, the Classic 350, has seen an upward revision in price by up to Rs 25k-26k. The Classic 650 was launched earlier this year in four colour options namely Vallam Red, Bruntingthorpe Blue, Teal and Black Chrome. Under GST 2.0, the price has been increased by 7.3 percent, taking it to Rs 3.75 lakh (ex-showroom) for the top-end variant.

Royal Enfield Bear 650: The latest 650cc model in RE portfolio had its world premiere at the EICMA 2024 in Milan, Italy. The Scrambler takes design inspiration from the Interceptor 650 as it becomes the brand’s sixth 650cc bike in India. The prices of the Bear 650 have been increased by up to Rs 25k-27k as it is up for grabs in five colours namely Board Walk, Wild Honey, Petrol Green, Golden Shadow and Two Four Nine.

Royal Enfield Shotgun 650: The single-seater neo-retro 650cc bike debuted in Nov 2023 at Royal Enfield’s annual motoring festival, the Motoverse 2023, in Goa. Offered in four paint shades namely Sheet Metal Grey, Plasma Blue, Drill Green and Stencil White, it has seen a hike in price by up to Rs 27k-28k due to revised tax rates. Royal Enfield Shotgun 650 new price after GST adjustments go beyond Rs 4 lakh (ex-showroom) for most of the variants.

The Super Meteor 650 is retailed in six paint schemes namely Astral Green, Astral Black, Interstellar Grey, Interstellar Green, Celestial Blue and Celestial Red.
