BMW F 450 GS Clear Images Out, India Launch Soon

The F 450 GS production-ready model looks identical to the concept version which we saw at the 2025 Bharat Mobility Global Expo in New Delhi.

BMW Motorrad held the world premiere of the F 450 GS concept at the EICMA 2024 in Italy. Later on, it was showcased at the 2025 Bharat Mobility Global Expo in January in New Delhi. Since then, it has been sighted multiple times during its test runs on the Indian roads. Now, the patent images of the production-ready model have been leaked online, hinting that BMW F 450 GS could launch in the next 2-3 months in India. TVS, as part of its tactical alliance with BMW, will use the F 450 GS platform for its upcoming models and Norton motorcycles.

Going by the leaked patent, the production version of the F 450 GS looks quite identical to the concept model. Almost every element including the radiator shrouds, front beak, sturdy fuel tank and the rear section is carried over from the concept. However, the exposed subframe seen on the concept version has been axed. The overall styling is heavily inspired by the latest BMW R 1300 GS, which was launched in the Indian market in Jan 2025.

Some of the notable features onboard the ADV bike are higher handlebar, split-seat setup, mid-mounted foot pegs and adjustable levers. BMW intends to offer a relaxed riding position while projecting it as an ADV tourer for long rides rather than an out-and-out off-road motorcycle, which is quite evident from the rider triangle.

The F 450 GS flaunts an all-LED lighting setup including the headlamp, turn indicators and tail-lamp cluster. It also boasts of a massive coloured TFT instrument console with Bluetooth connectivity. It is likely to get a rotary dial for operating the menu and various other functions in the instrument cluster. In terms of safety, it is packed with switchable dual-channel ABS, traction control and multiple ride modes.

Sitting on a trellis frame with a bolt-on sub-frame, the F 450 GS is offered with USD front forks and monoshock absorber at the rear. It rides on 19-inch front and 17-inch rear alloy wheels, which in all likelihood will be shod with tubeless tyres. The stopping power comes from disc brakes at front and rear. It will be the German brand’s entry-level motorcycle in the Indian market, replacing the now phased out G 310 GS.

At the heart, it will house a 450cc twin-cylinder liquid-cooled petrol engine which is good enough to make 48 bhp and 45 Nm. The engine is paired with a 6-speed transmission. The concept version had a kerb weight of 175 kg. However, we expect the production version to be a bit heavier due to addition of the cycle parts. BMW F 450 GS will directly rival Royal Enfield Himalayan 450, Honda NX500 and CFMoto 450 MT.
