Official: 790 Duke BS6 Launch After April 2020

790 Duke BS6 launch after a halt of a few months but this is a confirmation that the motorcycle is getting updated for our market…

There have been few contradictory speculations related to the KTM’s biggest motorcycle in India – the 790 Duke. However, with the announcement of the conversion of the entire lineup (upto 400cc) to Bharat Stage 6, the Austrian brand has also shared an update on its big Duke.

790 Duke BS6 Launch

KTM says that the 790 Duke will transition from BS4 to BS6 ‘post April 2020‘.

Currently, KTM is liquidating its BS4 inventory of the streetfighter and there have been few unconfirmed reports of some discounts on the model.

The BS6 compliant motorcycle is expected to continue with the same styling, apart from inclusion of one or two new colours. Also considering that almost no other KTM has seen a drop in power/torque numbers in this transition, the 790 Duke may also continue with very similar specs.

790 Duke is offered as the next stepping stone for all 390 Duke owners

For reference, the 2019 790 Duke churns out 103 hp of peak power and 87 Nm of max torque from its 799cc twin cylinder, parallel twin, liquid cooled engine.

However, a launch after April means that there may be a brief pause before the BS6 version officially enters India.

Though the complete KTM lineup received a very reasonable price hike in India, how will this transition affect the 790’s price can not be predicted since it is a CKD product.
