The 2025 KTM 790 Duke comes with new colour schemes, advanced features and a handful of cosmetic updates
The 2025 KTM 790 Duke has been unveiled globally with multiple cosmetic enhancements and features. Being first launched nearly eight years back in 2017, KTM 790 Duke was also sold in the Indian market for a limited period in 2019 at a price of Rs 8.64 lakh (ex-showroom). However, it was discontinued immediately once the BS6 emission norms kicked in April 2020. The 790 Duke couldn’t create much hype in India due to exorbitant price and meagre after-sales services. We do not expect the brand to introduce the 2025 KTM 790 Duke in our country anytime soon, even if it at all plans to.
The 2025 KTM 790 Duke gets a new 5-inch TFT instrument cluster and all-new switchgear from the 990 Duke. It replaces the existing 4.5-inch TFT screen. The bike also comes with KTM’s Demo Mode, a telemetry screen, and an Anti-wheelie Mode with 6 setting levels. The 2025 790 Duke also boasts of five riding modes namely Rain, Street, Sport, Track and Performance.
The overall naked signature design has been retained, except for the redesigned headlight cover. The bike has been offered in two new colourways namely Orange and Black. KTM is offering a full range of specially developed PowerParts for further customization. It is equipped with WP Apex suspensions at front as well as rear.
Mechanically, the 2025 KTM 790 Duke is powered by a EURO 5+ compliant 799cc twin-cylinder engine which generates top power of 94 bhp at 8,000 rpm and peak torque of 87 Nm at 8,000 rpm with the European model to ensure A2 license compatibility. However, this engine will churn out 103 bhp at 9,500 rpm for other global markets while torque figures will be the same.
The 2025 KTM 790 Duke gets standard warranty of up to 4 years. It is at loggerheads with Triumph Street Triple S, Suzuki GSX-S750, Kawasaki Z900 and Ducati Monster 821 in international markets. Presently, KTM India retails four big bikes in the Indian market in the form of 1390 Super Duke R, 890 Duke R, 1290 Super Adventure S and 890 Adventure R.
Meanwhile, KTM India is ready to launch three new motorcycles in India namely 390 Adventure X, 390 Adventure S and 390 Enduro R. These bikes are expected to launch by Feb 2025 in our country. The Austrian brand is also contemplating the launch of 2025 KTM 390 SMC R as it has been spotted testing on the Indian roads. After going on sale, it will become the first supermoto model in the sub-500cc segment in India.
