All-New 390 Duke Unveiled; Gets Biggest Update Ever

2024 390 Duke has been unveiled and it looks fantastic! Now comes with a bigger engine, more firepower and ammo…

Finally the 2024 390 Duke has been revealed to the public and boy… it looks smashing! How can you make an existing aggressive design even more aggressive – this is a classic example of that. The Duke comes with a new LED headlamp with massive tank extensions and an overall bigger body. This lends the street naked a very very menacing look.

Aside the styling, the next big change is the motor. The single cylinder motor now displaces 399cc (as compared to 373cc of the older model) and produces 44.9 PS of peak power and 39 Nm of max torque. That means that it now has 26cc of higher space and churns almost 1.4 PS and 2 Nm more. Another important pointer to note is that the bore and stroke of 89 mm and 64 mm are the same as the Triumph Speed 400. The power distribution continues through six-speeds but KTM claims the gearbox has been bettered. This is aided by an assist and slipper clutch.

The body is suspended on a new steel trellis frame that gets an aluminum sub-frame. Suspension duties are handled by upside down 43 mm WP forks at the front that have compression and rebound adjustability and an offset monoshock that also comes with rebound and preload adjustability. There is a longer wheelbase and importantly, there is a lowered seat height option of 800 mm. Stock saddle height is 820 mm as compared to the 822 mm of the India-spec current model.

In terms of features, you get three ride modes – Street, Rain and Track. KTM has also loaded it with launch control that is a segment first! There is an updated 5 inch TFT instrument console with Bluetooth connectivity that comes with all the features we have already known.

This is the biggest update to the 390 Duke ever and should leave enthusiasts satisfied. But what may hurt is the price increment that it may entail. Expect a fair bit of increase once the motorcycle launches here sometime within this year.
