Major Price Slash; New 2023 CB300R OBD2 Launched in India

New 2023 CB300R price makes it a very interesting preposition in the market. The roadster goes against Speed 400 and others..

Honda generally keeps its products over the competition in terms of pricing. Similar is the case with its 300s that it sells in India. But with increasing competition, the Jap has been compelled for a price correction. First, the 2023 CB300F was introduced recently with a massive 60,000 price slash. And now the other 300 – the CB300R has also received a similar treatment.

Honda has officially launched the 2023 CB300R that now gets the mandatory OBD-2 compliance which makes it eligible for sale in the country. The biggest USP of the new model is the new price tag of Rs 2.40 Lac (ex-showroom Delhi) which is about Rs 37,000 lesser than the older model.

Clearly an outcome of the very aggressive pricing of the Speed 400, the CB300R will now come in the reckoning of many people who want a nimble, not-too-bulky entry level mid capacity motorcycle from a trusted brand. The new model continues with all the same cycle parts and that 286.01cc, single cylinder motor has also been carried over. It produces 22.9 KW (31.1 PS) of peak power and 27.5 Nm of max torque. The star of the show, however, is that 146 kilo kerb weight which makes the 300R the lightest motorcycle in its class.

Key features include 41mm upside down front forks, dual channel ABS and a full-digital instrument cluster. The new CB300R also comes with emergency stop signal and hazard light switch. There is an assist and slipper clutch as well.

Honda Misses Pole Position by a Whisker: Sep’23 2-Wheeler Retail Sales

Bookings of the 2023 CB300R have commenced and it will be retailed through the premium BigWing dealerships in two colors – Pearl Spartan Red as well as Matte Massive Grey Metallic.

What do you think – with the CB300R now becoming more competitive (and we already know that its a very likeable motorcycle) will it get more buyers considering that we already have Speed 400, new 390 Duke, BMW G310R and the latest Apache RTR 310 as major rivals?
