KTM is expanding its Adventure motorcycle portfolio in India and the focus, it seems, is on the flagship 390 Adventure. Very recently KTM introduced the entry level variant, called as 390 Adventure X, which undercuts even the 390 Duke and many others. To cut prices, the Austrian took away some features from the standard model.
And today, it has taken care of the other end of the spectrum – by introducing a more feature rich model. The new 390 Adventure comes with more off-road worthiness and it has been a long standing demand from enthusiasts. Let us quickly list the changes..
2023 390 Adventure Features
Adjustable Suspension – The new higher-spec model now comes with full adjustable WP Apex suspension. The upside down forks at the front offer compression and rebound damping but there is no preload adjustability. The rear monoshock has pre-load adjustability as well as rebound dampening. We have 30 click adjustability available for both compression and rebound for the front suspension. The rear has 20 click available for rebound along with the 10-step adjustability for preload as available on the standard version as well. In simple terms you can change your motorcycle’s suspension based on your liking and terrain.
Spoke Wheels – Another big change in the motorcycle now is the presence of spoke wheels that replace the alloys of the standard variant. Spoke wheels offer a much higher level of freedom to the rider on off-roads. Aside that a spoke wheel is also easier and cheaper to maintain. KTM is using black colored anodized aluminium rims of the same size – 19 inch and 17 inch – on the new 390 Adventure.
On the flip side, the new model now runs tube-type Metzeler Tourance tyres which could pose an issue when you are far off the mainland! The motorcycle is offered in Rally Orange color shade.

The highest-spec trim costs Rs 3.60 Lakh which is a hike of around Rs 20,000 over the standard model but more importantly, you pay about Rs 80,000 over the X variant!

It continues with standard features like Traction Control, Quickshifter+, Cornering ABS, Ride-by-Wire, LED headlamps, Ride Modes, etc. The engine and other bits also remain unchanged.
