A test mule of one of Aprilia’s scooters has been spotted doing runs and we believe it is the upcoming 2022 SR160.
The scooter on test runs is equipped with a digital instrument cluster. This is a step up from the current model which comes with a semi-digital console although it’s still LCD. It appears that this model is using the same unit from the SXR160 and SXR125.
The tail lamp in the upcoming SR160 also seems to have been upgraded to an X-styled design. Although the test mule being spotted wears camouflaged, we expect the upcoming scooter to feature new paint jobs.
Aprilia to Launch Tuono 250 in China; Revealed
There may not be changes to the powertrain. The Aprilia SR160 will derive its power from the 160.03 cc, 3-valve air-cooled engine. It is likely to continue producing 10.84 bhp of power and 11.6 Nm of max torque.
Talking more about specs, the upcoming 160cc scooter will retain the 14-inch alloy wheels, telescopic forks at the front, and monoshock at the rear end.

The braking duty of the scooter will be handled by a disc brake on the front wheel and a drum brake on the rear.
The Aprilia SR160 is expected to be launched around the upcoming festive season which has also been confirmed by Deigo Graffi the MD of Aprilia. Like any other brand, Aprilia will charge slightly more for the new 2022 model. Currently, the scooter range of Aprilia starts at around INR 1.08 Lac.
