V-Strom 650 BS6 price is significantly higher than the already high cost of the older model. However, it is the most off-road friendly ADV out there in this range…
After a little delay, Suzuki has finally and officially launched the 2021 V-Strom 650 in India. Like earlier, it is the more off-road biased XT version that is available here and the biggest change is the compliance with Bharat Stage 6 emission norms.
The ADV continues with liquid cooled, DOHC, 90 degree, 645cc, V-Twin engine and it becomes the first BS6 bike from Suzuki’s portfolio to be sold in the BS6 era. There has been no mention of the specs by the company. For reference, the older model churned 71 hp of peak power at 8800 rpm and 62 Nm at 6500 rpm.
Among prominent features, the V-Strom 650 comes with Suzuki Easy Start System, lightweight Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) along with three mode traction control system (there are two modes and it can be switched off as well).

The 2019 V-Strom 650 was launched at 7.46 Lakh and compared to that the hike is a very substantial Rs 1.38 Lakh – which makes it the costliest mid-size ADV in India. It, in fact, ventures into the bigger motorcycle segment, however, its off-road worthiness is what Suzuki will harp on.
