In what may seem like a minor cosmetic upgrade, Bajaj has officially launched the 2019 Pulsar 150 Neon range in India; but it is a part of a larger strategy. We will talk about it later but first, let us share with you the details of the motorcycle…
2019 Pulsar 150 Neon has been introduced in the entry Classic range. It has been offered in three colours – Neon Red (red ascents on black colour), Neon Silver (silver ascents on black colour) and Neon Yellow (yellow ascents on matt black colour), which is the pick of the shades on offer.
These motorcycles get colour-coordinated headlamp eyebrows, Pulsar logo, side panel mesh, rear cowl, alloy wheels and grab rails.

For reference, 125cc motorcycles like Honda Shine range from Rs 58k-68k and Glamour’s top model is priced at close to Rs 63,000.
2019 Pulsar 150 Classic continues mechanically unchanged – gets a 2-valve 150cc engine capable of pumping out 14 PS of peak power at 8000 rpm and 13.4 Nm of max torque at 6000 rpm. There is no word on ABS yet but it will be offered in the months to come to comply with the upcoming mandate.

The Ploy
In its press release, Bajaj has mentioned that this motorcycle is for people willing to move beyond 100/110cc motorcycles. The ploy is to lure commuters into the fold with the Pulsar brand, now that other brands like Discover, V (and even the smaller Pulsar 135) have not really managed to do that convincingly and for long. And this is precisely the reason why you see a bare-basic Pulsar 150 at those prices…
