The brand Apache got a big boost when TVS launched the Apache 160 4V. It was obviously expected to be a replacement of the older-gen smaller Apaches, however, because of the demand, the Chennai-based manufacturer continues to offer the older-gen version as well.
We were very impressed with the new Apache 160 4v when we test rode it last year and as we said ‘it has taken the game significantly higher for the brand‘. Now, TVS has plugged the only big gap in their offering – by shodding it with ABS, ahead of the April 1st deadline.

As you can see the premium TVS is charging for the addition of the single channel ABS is Rs 6640. TVS says all the Apaches are equipped with a new generation ABS unit with a special algorithm which has been derived based on their race track experience. This will help riders achieve quick cornering lines without losing speeds.

The new Apache 160 continues to be propelled by the same 159.7 cc oil cooled single cylinder engine which pumps out 16.5 PS (16.8 in case of FI version) of peak power and 14.8 Nm of max torque. The braking duties are performed by a 270 mm front petal disc which is standard along with the choice of a 200 mm petal rotor or a 130 mm drum.
