2018 Africa Twin changes & price difference listed…
Showcased first at the 2018 Auto Expo in Delhi, the 2018 Africa Twin has been launched in India. The 2017 version was sold out in a quick time (Honda informs 80 units were sold in less than 100 days) and the latest 2018 edition also comes in limited numbers of 50 units only, for now.

- 3 Riding Modes
- Honda selectable Torque Control (HSTC) – It is a 7 level system – level 1 is for aggressive off-roading and level 7 is for maximum control on slippery terrains. It can be switched off.
- New ‘rally style’ negative LCD instrument console. It has tachometer, fuel gauge, speedometer, odometer, trip meter, clock, ABS indicator, riding modes etc.
- 2.3 kg Lighter lithium ion battery
The 2018 Africa Twin produces 89 PS of peak power at 7500 rpm and 93.1 Nm of max torque at 6000 rpm from its 999.11 cc parallel twin engine. India continues to get only the DCT (Dual Clutch Transmission) version only.

Africa Twin was first introduced at 12.90 Lakh which makes the current version’s price about Rs 33,000 costlier (however, Honda increased the price of the 2017 version midway and the last few units were available at 13.07 Lakh).
Like other Honda’s big motorcycles, Africa Twin will be available at all 22 Wing World Honda dealerships. Bookings are now open and can also be done at Honda’s website.
First few customers who book the motorcycle will also get a chance to witness live MotoGP however, Honda has not clarified ‘how many?’.
