Update: Based on the spy pics on this page, Indian autos blog has shared a few renderings of Fazer 250. Though the motorcycle on the road looks better than these, they give us a crude picture of how the motorcycle will look….
As Mr Kurien of Yamaha India hinted earlier, Fazer 250 is a reality and here it is right in front of your eyes. Northeast Biking Community has spotted the Fazer 250 undisguised somewhere probably around Gurgaon.
First things first – unlike the semi-faired Fazer 150, the quarter liter brethren is a full-faired motorcycle. And as was expected – it is a fairing snapped on the naked FZ25’s body.
The motorcycle looks bulbous and as we had anticipated, we do see touring credentials like a raised handlebar, relaxed seating posture, fairing (to prevent wind blasts) etc. We hope there are minor alterations to its engine and gear ratios to justify a ‘touring’ tag.
The motorcycle continues with the oil-cooling tech (as can be made out from the pipes running around) as the naked sibling and it will be interesting to note how efficiently will Yamaha avoid engine heating (without liquid cooling) on a faired motorcycle. It can not be ascertained whether it sports ABS or not, as was in the news very recently.
Fazer 250 Launch
Unlike Indian manufacturers, we have seen Yamaha (Suzuki and others) launches its motorcycles soon after their first spottings on the road. And hence, there is an underlying assumption that this Fazer 250 mule is undergoing its last phase of testing and validations here and its launch can be expected anytime in the coming 2-3 months from now.
